This body of work is a synergetic experience created through a fusion of art disciplines from various people. Nuclear to this holistic art experience is an exploration of storytelling through fashion, music, visuals, augmented reality and dance. As a group of artists we created a body of work centered around the theme of masks. Masks are a symbol of becoming and unbecoming whilst suggesting uniformity, mimicry and synchronization with our environment. Used both in the past and the present, the performance of masks comment on our identity and reflect on our everyday avatars.

In this work, the viewer is exposed to photographs of masked bodies. Pointing a smartphone towards the picture reveals dancing creatures under the surface of the image. The masked bodies move to the music while the story of the song is manifested in their appearance. Therefore the exhibition is no longer an exhibition only. It turns into a concert with moving visuals. This live happening illustrates the simultaneity of our time as well as the importance and potential within opening up common art formats. Through these various mediums the narrative also touches on themes such as ownership, disguise, censorship and accessibility in a contextual as well as on a procedural level. As a group of artists we are in an ongoing dialogue about different mediums in relation to the space around us. We explore the potential of constant transition. This body of work projects the aesthetics that influence our daily experiences around masking ourselves and blurs the lines between common design disciplines to create a multi-sensory affair. With the aim of reimagining identifiers of self and how we can symbiotically exist with our environment, we intend to open up a space that will allow dialogue around these themes
